QuoteIN Menus reference

QuoteIN creates 2 menus in Excel. The first menu is the main menu and is placed in the Excel menu tool bar once QuoteIN has been installed. The second menu is the cell menu. It appears with a right mouse button click on a cell. Commands in the cell menu are associated with actions on the current selection.

The feeds list box lists all the feeds installed. Set your preferred data feed as default feed (that means that it will be used whenever feed is omitted. Also unchecked any feeds you are not interested in or that you don't have access to simplify the menus.

Open the log window showing events happening. This is useful for troubleshooting: if login into a server fails it will be logged here.

The throttle value is the shortest time allowed between two updates on the same symbol and same field expressed in milliseconds. The default is set 1 second (1000) and 0 means tick by tick. QuoteIN automatically adjusts speed so that excel never blocks the machine if there is not enough free CPU time a message is displayed in the status window. You will need to increase that interval if you come near to your machine limits when treating great numbers of quotes or when performing complicated calculations.

Active may be checked /unchecked to stop updating. This is done without disconnecting the feeds.

Excel 2002/2003/2007 only. Sorts a colum quote list according to the field currently. This is a fast shortcut to the Data Sort Excel command. Mode ascending/descending toggles each time you sort

Open switch version window. Switch version lets you download new versions or rollback to older versions.

Shows information about the program and subscription status.

The cell menu appears by clicking with the mouse right button over a cell

Opens a window containing all the fields available for an instrument in the chosen feed.

Refresh snapshots quotes. For streaming quotes can be used to give priority to the selected quotes in case you have exceeding the quota of the feed. All symbols have a “STATUS” field that reflects anytime if the symbol is within the quota.
